6 Zoos Where You Can See Rocky Mountain Goats Up Close

The Rocky Mountain goat, also known as the mountain goat, is a unique species that is native to North America. If you're an animal lover and want to see these majestic creatures up close without having to hike the mountains, then you'll be happy to know that several zoos in North America have them on display!

Here are 6 zoos where you can see Rocky Mountain goats:

1. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Colorado Springs, CO, US

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is located in the heart of the Rockies and is home to several species of mountain goats, including the Rocky Mountain goat. The zoo's goat exhibit is a popular destination for visitors, who can observe the goats as they climb and play on the rocks. The zoo's newest baby mountain goat Blanca, born on April 4, 2022, is barely 1 year old at the time of writing, which would make for a wonderful spectacle for kids and adults alike. According to its website, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo also offers Rocky mountain goat adoption gift packages for US$65, a wonderful and unique gift idea for any mountain goat lover. However, the item is currently out of stock based on my research, and I hope it will be made available in the near future because my birthday is coming up! :D

6. Calgary Zoo - Calgary, AB, Canada

The Calgary Zoo, known for its large collection of native Canadian animals, is another excellent place to see Rocky Mountain goats. In the fall of 2022, it had to bid fond farewells to the 3 of its 5 mountain goats as they were transferred to another zoo in Manitoba. The zoo still has 4 remaining mountain goats and it appears they are currently kept behind the scene as the zoo redevelops the Canadian Wilds section. We hope they will be ready to meet visitors in the near future!
